Law Enforcement Train-the-Trainer

Nicholasville, KY

Hosted by the Nicholasville Police Department

Byrna’s Law Enforcement & Private Security Train-the-Trainer course is an 8-hour POST-certified program designed to certify instructors in the proper deployment and instruction of Byrna’s .68 caliber launcher systems. The course emphasizes use-of-force principles, relevant case law, policy considerations, and liability issues associated with less-lethal force options, ensuring instructors are well-versed in both legal and operational considerations.

Participants will receive hands-on familiarization with the Byrna line of launchers, including deployment techniques, troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational best practices. The course also covers instructor development principles, including the planning, implementation, and safe management of reality-based training scenarios that incorporate Byrna launchers. While the course is discussion-focused, students will learn
effective methods for designing and conducting realistic training exercises that reinforce sound decision-making, policy compliance, and appropriate use-of-force responses.
