Free ATF Training Events

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) will be hosting a series of free training events across Kentucky and West Virginia in the coming months. These courses are designed to support law enforcement professionals in strengthening firearm and violent crime investigations.


Building a Bulletproof Case
This 8-hour Crime Gun Intelligence training covers current crime gun trends and provides instruction on NIBIN, NESS, eTrace, and effective investigative techniques related to firearm and violent crime cases.

  • In-Service Credit: Eligible for 8 hours through KLEC (Kentucky) or LEPS (West Virginia)
  • Time: 0800 – 1700

Crime Gun Interviewing Techniques
This 8-hour Strategic Interviewing course provides practical skills and techniques to enhance firearm and violent crime investigations, improving outcomes in prosecution.
